This is a pilot IWitness activity in Czech language for use in the Czech Republic.
Based on activity designed to support the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre/AEGIS Trust Genocide Education Program - Learning from the Past/Building for the Future, it uses local and Rwandan testimony and other multimedia sources to introduce students to genocide as a concept. It also introduces them to the characteristics of pre-genocidal societies by looking at Czech society before the Holocaust and Rwandan society before the genocide, examining the role of stereotyping, prejudice and propaganda.
In the Czech educational environment, the activity is designed for use primarily as a homework assignment.
