Are you looking for a way to challenge your students to be creative and innovative?
The IWitness Video Challenge is the perfect way to inspire your students to
do just that.
It has been over 20 years since the film Schindler's List won the Academy Award
for Best Picture. But the legacy of that story is still relevant today. Oskar
Schindler's extraordinary act did not start off that way. It came about in a
hundred small, ordinary actions that culminated in something extraordinary.
IWitness contains thousands of voices – voices of ordinary people, who, like
Oskar Schindler, did ordinary things, and in doing so made the world a better
The USC Shoah Foundation – The Institute for Visual History and Education is
pleased to sponsor the IWitness Video Challenge. The Institute invites students
from all over North America to be inspired by the voices in IWitness, to use
their innovation and creativity to create positive value in their communities
by doing something ordinary (or extraordinary), and then asks them to build a
video telling the story about how they contributed to making their communities
a better place.
