In this Mini Quest, students will explore how discrimination and divisionism played a part in the processes that led to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. The activity focuses on the impact of divisionism on students in school in the months leading up to the Genocide against the Tutsi by exploring the testimony of individuals who survived it. Understanding the experience of others will help students develop empathy and critical thinking. Students will create a visual expression, photograph or poster reflecting how they imagine they can counter discrimination in schools.
