This activity maps the journey of individuals saved by the efforts of Oskar Schindler through the testimonies of Holocaust survivors who provide us with rich descriptions and an understanding of the time and places they experienced before and during the Holocaust. Students can complete this GeoStory activity in preparation for viewing the film or as a culminating activity. In this activity, students will represent the experiences of individuals who worked for Oskar Schindler. Students will search for clips of testimony that depict pre-war experiences in Kraków, Poland; the experience in the Podgórze ghetto and Płaszów concentration camp and their experiences in Schindler’s factory. Students will also be asked to represent these experiences with a map and timeline. Students will then reflect on how their GeoStory expands their understanding.
