In this mini lesson, students will listen to the testimony of Leon Bass, an American soldier during World War II, who served in the war and then returned home to continue fighting for civil rights. Students will closely read the testimony as a text, asking questions and developing their thoughts about racism. The activity will help them make meaning about racism and encourage them to help fight against racism.
