About IWalk

Developed by USC Shoah Foundation in partnership with Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation, the IWalk mobile application is designed to connect specific locations at the new Horwitz-Wasserman Holocaust Memorial Plaza in Philadelphia with personal testimonies of Holocaust survivors and witnesses. The app guides visitors as they move through the Memorial Plaza, providing explanations about each interpretive element, as well as maps, photos and other multimedia. The app offers content in both English and Spanish, and provides each user with an age-appropriate, customized experience.

The location-based application adds an important modern element to Holocaust education, which for decades has been borne heavily by the aging survivor population. This marks IWalk’s first public launch in the U.S., following pilot programs that are currently underway in Budapest, Warsaw, and Brno.

The app is available now for iOS and Android devices.
